By nature I’m a bubbly big kid at heart! I was that friend who would prank call you with a man voice just for you to recognize my raspy voice behind it! I vividly remember the day when my free-flowing and playful spirit began to change. Yet still playful, I realized everything was not to be taken lightly or playfully. My eyes were opening. I was in college when I was becoming even more aware of how sin was so subtle but yet so serious.

I can’t help but to think about my boys and how they like to “play fight” but when someone hits a little too hard then now feelings are frustrated and it’s not so “fun” anymore.

That’s exactly how sin is. It starts off really small and is all “fun and games” until someone gets hurt. Playing with sin isn’t funny business & it’s definitely no game. Its literally playing with fire and coming into agreement with the agent against our very soul… satan. And when he plays, he plays for keeps.

But the gospel message of Christ sets us free, not from the temptation of sin, but from falling into the trap of it. Jesus teaches us how, by the His rule and reign in our life, we can never lose when we are on His team.

Christ’ pursue is sooo powerful, so beautiful, so kind and gracious that it leads rambunctious hearts like all of ours to repentance. And when we turn towards God and away from our flesh and it’s sinful fallen nature, we invite Christ’ nature to be our very own as we die daily to the deeds of darkness. It is the most beautiful and exhilarating exchange that we get to experience in a new way every single day as we choose to pick up our cross and follow HIM. Is it always easy? Absolutely not, but it always worth it? Most definitely.

So whose team are you on? What rules are you playing by?

Keep Choosing Christ Beloved. He already chose you🤍
