The waiting womb

Yesterday I felt sad for the first time in a while. I stopped being the strong one and just allowed my heart to feel the emotion roaming my heart.

To be honest, I don’t like being sad. Sadness is one of those emotions I try to quickly get past, but yesterday I acknowledged that sad space.

I had never sown tears for this particular reason, but yesterday I did and oh how I needed to release those pent up tears. After my tears hit my husband’s chest as we laid in our bed, him holding me, I was reminded that God is good even in the uncertain wait. The hardest of the wait was the two weeks my cycle was late and the anticipation of a positive test seemed soooo real. But even in that moment, God was near.

This wait is not just a womb wait, but God is doing so much in this waiting season. Though this womb is not yet filled again when I would have thought would be the perfect timing for Arrow to be a big brother, my heart is full of hope that God will indeed do only what He can do when He best sees fit according to His riches and glory. Sad at times? Yes. Yet satisfied in my savior Jesus and grateful to be pregnant with so much purpose in Christ, while parenting 6 blessings from the Lord! God You are faithful and I trust you! YOU did it before, & YOU alone can do it again ABBA! YOU are that kind of God!

Maybe you can relate to this wait in some way. Maybe you are believing God to fill your womb, heal your heart, mend your marriage, change your job, and the list goes on. All of us are in some season of a wait. I believe this is a part of every Christians walk as we learn to even wait on the return of our king Jesus!

Years ago I was studying out the definition for the word “wait” and what I found was that it meant, “to serve.” Think of a waiter at a restaurant… another title for them is a “server”. As God calls us into different waiting seasons, He is also calling us into a greater depth of serving. I pray that in this season of your waiting and mine, that we would be daughter who wait upon the Lord with joy and a heart to serve others with an outward focused heart posture. Even while still acknowledging our raw emotions and feeling our own stuff, may we not allow these emotions to consume us or isolate us from community. This is the community God will have you serve and these are those who will also serve you in your challenging wait.

Emotions are indicators that we are human and in need of God’s love over us. Feel what you are feeling and then place those raw emotions in the hands of a big God who can handle it. What you are feeling matters and God cares for you like crazy.

Praying you forward in your wait. Don’t grow weary. You will reap your harvest in due time if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9)

“Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy”. -Psalm 126:5🤍🌻

Be loved beloved.

Our maturity shoot with our first born 3 years ago!

The Game We Never Win.

By nature I’m a bubbly big kid at heart! I was that friend who would prank call you with a man voice just for you to recognize my raspy voice behind it! I vividly remember the day when my free-flowing and playful spirit began to change. Yet still playful, I realized everything was not to be taken lightly or playfully. My eyes were opening. I was in college when I was becoming even more aware of how sin was so subtle but yet so serious.

I can’t help but to think about my boys and how they like to “play fight” but when someone hits a little too hard then now feelings are frustrated and it’s not so “fun” anymore.

That’s exactly how sin is. It starts off really small and is all “fun and games” until someone gets hurt. Playing with sin isn’t funny business & it’s definitely no game. Its literally playing with fire and coming into agreement with the agent against our very soul… satan. And when he plays, he plays for keeps.

But the gospel message of Christ sets us free, not from the temptation of sin, but from falling into the trap of it. Jesus teaches us how, by the His rule and reign in our life, we can never lose when we are on His team.

Christ’ pursue is sooo powerful, so beautiful, so kind and gracious that it leads rambunctious hearts like all of ours to repentance. And when we turn towards God and away from our flesh and it’s sinful fallen nature, we invite Christ’ nature to be our very own as we die daily to the deeds of darkness. It is the most beautiful and exhilarating exchange that we get to experience in a new way every single day as we choose to pick up our cross and follow HIM. Is it always easy? Absolutely not, but it always worth it? Most definitely.

So whose team are you on? What rules are you playing by?

Keep Choosing Christ Beloved. He already chose you🤍

“Never have I ever” been in need of so much grace

My sin was great, but I played them small, because I didn’t dabble in what had been deemed “the big sin” in our society. I had never gotten drunk before, never had I used any drug or illegal substances, I had never had sex before marriage, and so many other “never have I evers”. Yet even in this,
I was still a broken sinner in need of the saving grace of Jesus so desperately. The thing is this, we just can’t justify ourselves and we can’t weigh our sin against ourselves or others. We cheapen the gift of the cross when we do this and we become proud of our own attempt of righteousness known as “self-righteousness”.

The truth is this, sin is still sin. My greatest sins looked different (not smaller…just different). My struggle in sin was silent, but deadly and they still crucified Christ. They consisted of anger, fits of rage, impurity in thoughts and deeds, pride, zodiac sign enthusiast (which is considered witchcraft by putting faith in something other than God; in my ignorance I had no idea), jealousy, discontentment, gossiping, dishonoring my parents, and all the “small” sins I minimized. The reality is this, sin is never small. My sin killed an innocent man named Jesus.

My sin was so easy for to downplay in pride, because it wasn’t hurting anyone so I thought, but beloved was I wrong. It was hurting me and it was hurting the one who died for me. I could easily hide behind my happy face, because my sin only came came out under pressure and heated moments. Apply pressure and see what sin comes out. You’ll be so surprised what you discover is deeply seated in your soul and needs to be surrounded. When I began to study God’s word with women who loved me enough to go deeper with me, God began to deal with my heart and convicted me to the core. I no longer cared about saving face; I just wanted God’s grace. This was when I stopped concealing my secrets and raw about the icky stuff inside of my heart and I had to resolve that I would no longer live shamefully hidden in broken habits like Adam and Eve did in the garden of Eden. Did this mean I would be prefect? Heck to the no. It just meant that I no longer had to fear shame nor depend on myself for righteous. That was soooo freeing! My righteousness was now from God and not of my own doing.

For the first time repentance made sense to me. I realized that our faith walk was much more than just belief in Jesus, good deeds, and a false idea of perfection, but repentance is a heart posture to resist perfection of the law and to embrace the need of help in order to walk out holiness. I’m so thankful for the Holy Spirit that guides us and that God doesn’t expect us to walk by faith without His help. My goodness I need Him!

Repentance is a beautiful reality if our faith walk. It means to turn away from sin and turn towards God. It’s not a one time thing, but it’s continually. God is such a life giver, but He can’t heal what we choose to conceal nor forgive what you refuse to admit. Admitting that we are a sinner in need of grace, forgiveness and a perfect savior truly is the most humbling realities of our faith walk. Once we can accept our need for grace, we can then be able to grace others who also have fallen short just as ourselves.

I’m so thankful for this journey with Jesus. It’s about transformation and everyday we are evolving more into His original design for us. I’m thankful that His grace met us where we are at and calls us higher from that place. I’m grateful that even when I couldn’t recognize that my ways and my thinking were missing His Mark, He graced me and still used me even in my ignorance at times. I didn’t deserve that kind of grace, but that’s what a gift is. We don’t deserve them and yet we are blessed with them in spite of our imperfection. As I began to mature in Christ, He so graciously showed me more of my error moment by moment so that I could be in His perfect will. This was not to shame me, but to show me a better way of walking.

For the one who feels like they have to be “perfect patty” because of the religious pressure people have placed on you, throw off that heavy weight and grab hold of the grace of God that is big enough to love you through your weakness. No longer will we be those who downplay sin nor praise it. But we will be those who have a biblical and healthy view and understanding of Both sin, yes, and also grace. We have all fallen short of the glory of God and we have no right to puff ourselves us if our sin looks “different” or “smaller” than others around us. We all need the grace of God every single moment of this faith walk and every single day because this flesh wants to make us forfeit our faith.

Be free and lean on the love of God. He longs to love on all parts of you in every stage of your faith walk. Yes, you sin was great, but oh was His grace even greater. Let His love lead you out of sin and when He does, go run hard for His kingdom and never look back. Yes you will stumble, but you will not fall.

Be loved abundantly beloved!

Melting melanin: a poem

“A heated day in history.

Hot yellow days when the sun has no shade. It’s only outlet is to let out it’s burning blaze on our sun kissed skin darkening our melanin that glows from within in. We are worshippers. Our king is named Jesus. The one who redeemed us from a melting pot of pain.I scream with joy because His name is so worthy to be praised. But all my screams aren’t pretty. You see, I scream because innocents in a sense is being overlooked by lost crooks who have no common sense. And when common sense ain’t so common, I’d hope a moral compass would be. If only they knew Christ’ love leads us straight, they’d divorce cold hate that discriminates.Bodies drip drip dropping to the ground like melting pieces of paradise that never made it into my mouth. And just like this, sadly too many brown souls never made it home to keep on taking sweet licks of life.Instead they took beatings and licks that stole theirs.Loved ones left alone to groan & stomach this twisted “news” normal. All have fallen short of God’s glory. This reality constantly humbles me to see all gracefully through a lens of love. His blood dripped for our downfalls & he took many licks for lives & yet some still despise. So in gratitude I’ll grieve differently.I’ll spend the rest of life’s bitter sweetness on sharing what I taste & see about His deity. And I’ll lick this ice until my insides no longer feel the need to silently scream because there is so much melanin right in front of me to celebrate. God. Is. Good.”

(A poem I wrote yesterday while watching these two precious souls indulge in this sticky yumminess! Grateful to behold they’re beauty. They melt my heart!)

10 Tips to Help you Approach and Study God’s word with Confidence!

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”Hebrew 4:16

One of my favorite times of the day is my time in God’s word and presence. There’s nothing like it. When I was in college my time in God’s word looked a lot different without children and a hubby. As the years go by, I have gained a deeper appreciation for my time before the Lord, especially as a wife and mother. I find myself constantly going to God’s word for direction, insight, instruction, clarity, hope, confidence and everything in between! I kid you not, God’s word is the answer for EVERYTHING and EVERYONE open enough to put their faith in Him!

I wanted to share this blog for those who may feel overwhelmed or even intimidated when approaching God or His word. I want to encourage you that God’s word is His voice; it’s one of the ways He speaks to us! As our Father, He desire for us to draw near to Him. It’s vital that we don’t allow the enemy to convince us that God is unapproachable and intimidating. This lie of the enemy tries to keep us distant from God, deceived, discouraged, disobedient ultimately devoured. “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour”-1 Peter 5:8

The truth is this, God is not just present, He is omnipresent (everywhere at the same time) and He is near. What God has to say to His children has so much value and is still relevant today in our wild and crazy world. No matter what stage of life you are in, I hope that something shared in this blog is helpful to you as you go forward in your faith walk.

I used to set an exact time to have my “QT” aka quiet time with the Lord, but as mentioned before, this mama bear has a whole 2 year old talking and screaming toddler and 5 other older children and sometimes I just have to be flexible ya know! Sometimes that looks like 6am time with God and sometimes it’s 6pm or even midnight moments of quiet while the rest of the house sleeps! If you’re able to set a time and place every single time then that’s even better, but if not, don’t make this a ritual and legalistic habit. Be flexible, but faithful in your approach! God is searching for a pure heart posture and not a person with a religious habit but no heart for Him.

“Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: ‘I thank you, God, that I am not like other people—cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not like that tax collector! I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’ “But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’ I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” -Luke‬ ‭18:10-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

One more thing, if it is more helpful for you to use the Bible app so that you can listen to the audio version of the Bible, do that. Faith comes from hearing the word Romans 10:17)! I do this often because it truly is something really powerful about just hearing and listening to the word as you follow along with your eyes. For me, the word of God tends to stick more in my heart when I do this! So whatever you need to do to best be able to hear God’s word, put yourself in that space!

Ok now that the foundation is set, let’s jump into this blog! Here are my favorite 10 Tips to Help you Approach and Study God’s word with Confidence!

1. Remove distractions.

Tv, social media, loud settings. This will help posture your heart as you approach God’s word with honor. God’s word is His voice, so silence anything that would try to derail you. If you’re a mommy like myself , you may have to get creative and include your kids sometimes in on your time with God! God understands your context as a mother so don’t beat yourself up. If you’re able to occupy your littles, then do so! Let them watch a t.v show or play with some toys! Nap time is a great time to maximize on the quiet moments! I have even had sweet times in God’s word in my car parked under a tree so I can have some beautiful scenery! I have even had QT in the bathroom! Yep! Sure have! Coffee shops and walk-in closets make for a good quiet space too! One of my favs is prayer walking and listening to the word audibly! This may look different for everyone and every different stage of life may cause you to switch it up and spice it up! No matter what, simply get in a space where you can focus and find the treasures stored up in God’s word. He will honor your heart to come meet with Him!

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed”. -Mark 1:35

2. Pray and put down pride

Ask God to open your heart and mind to receive His truth. Ask God to remove any pride that could stand in the way and hinder you from accepting God word for what it is. Repent of (turn away from) any sin. Sin hinders us from seeing clearly. Ask God where He’d like to take you in His word! If you can’t discern where He’s leading you in a specific area, open it up your bible randomly (This is called “bible flips) and start wherever the Bible opens to. Another great place to start is in the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John)! These book all teach about the life, teachings and ministry of our savior Jesus! Acts is another one of my favorites to start in. It’s so powerful and full of spirit filled and led encounters! Your mind will be blown away! Job, Psalm, or Proverbs are also a great place to start! You can even read scriptures that help with a specific area you may be working through. For example, if you’re struggling with anxiety, look up verses about trusting God or if you’re struggling with lust, look up verses about purity and holiness. The goal is to focus on the solution to your sin or struggle and not the problem of it. The goal is holiness and transformation and not condemnation. You can literally search on google “scriptures about _________ (fill in the blank), and begin reading those verses. Whatever you do, don’t complicate your time with God. Come to Him like a child just wanting to learn and glean from your heavenly Daddy’s infinite wisdom. Come open hearted and open handed to receive what He has just for you. Come hungry and thirsty. He will fill you up! “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied”-Matthew 5:6

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” -James 4:8 NKJV

3. Praise and Worship:

Worship is such a powerful way to set our hearts on God. Naturally in our flesh we are inward focused and selfish. So worship silences our flesh and puts our focus on God. Tell God how good He is! Thank Him! Read the psalms out loud! Cry out to Him! Sing, dance and raise your hands towards Him like a child reaching for their parents to hold them! Bow down before Him! Laugh! Rest in His presence.

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” -Psalm 100:4 NKJ

4. Come with fresh eyes

Remove your own ideas, culture bias, world perspectives, opinions and subjective thoughts that lean towards your way of life or understanding. This will help you look at God’s word from His heavenly perspective and context rather than your own world view and experiences leading the way. Be a detective as the Holy Spirit directs your reading and listening! Step into the shoes of the culture that is being mentioned. Research the culture if you don’t already know about it. This will give you cultural context of what was happening in the word during that time. Also, look up locations that are mentioned and picture the setting, time of day, time of year, etc. Nothing in God’s word is mentioned without a purpose! Don’t overlook any detail! Every bit of it is a blessing!

“Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture comes from one’s own interpretation.” 2 Peter 1:20 BSB

5. Word count:

Count repeated words and phrases that are constantly being mentioned over and over and over again. There is a main point to be made in every passage.

6. Define keys terms and names

Define words and names that that are repeated or words and names that you may not fully understand; also define words that you are curious about. Names are a big one and so much insight is found in the definition of biblical names. Try not to overlook the ones that are hard to pronounce!

7. Take notes

Draw images that come to mind in regards to the word and highlight and underline what grabs your attention in the verses. Write a letter or prayer to God. Write down memory verses you can meditate on. I do this on note cards and stick notes! I often take picture of the sticky notes and put them as my phone screen saver so I can reflect on them during the week. This tip is also helpful for church! I always encourage people to keep a journal to take notes. This will allow you to look back on things months and even years later and reflect on how far you’ve come in your faith walk!

8. RE-RO! Reflect. Examine. Repent. Obey

What did you learn? What convicted your heart? What parts did you wrestle with? Write what you are learning down and obey what God is showing you! Be still and be silent before the Lord. Write down anything He may be putting on your heart. Examine what you may be feeling and begin to adjust and align yourself, your life/thoughts, your lifestyle and choices with the word of God. Obedience is the only proper response when conviction comes.

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:22-25‬ ‭NIV‬‬

9 . Share what you have received

Share what you just learned and discovered with a trusted friend or even a stranger God may lead you to share with. Keeping coming back to His word for more daily! His word is so so good; I’m sure you’ll want seconds! Stay hungry for more of His presence; He purifies is in that sweet place! You never know who you just might be blessing as you share, so be bold and courageous and love others enough to share truth. God will bless your obedience!

10. R E P E A T tips 1-9!

The goal is transformation and not quick fix behavior modifications. This faith walk is a journey, not a sprint. Keep walking by faith every single day! Keep showing up! Keep opening your heart to God’s love! The same way you wouldn’t want to skip multiple meals, should be the same way you feel about the word of God that feeds and nourishes your soul. Eat up beloved!

“Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself daily and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?”Matthew 16:24-26 ESV

Remember that God’s word is useful for Everything! Both Old Testament and New are relevant today and useful for everyday living! ALL of God’s word from cover to cover is the very breath of God! His voice matters!

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” -2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV

I hope these tips will help you dive into your next “quiet time” with God! Our time with God is the most important meeting of the day! Don’t miss it! Going forward, instead of focusing on reading God’s word, let it begin to read you. God loves you and He can’t wait to have one on one time with just you! Yep! You’re that special to Him! Let Him love on you and lead you with His truth!

Until next time beloveds!

Persecution: the unpleasant Part of God’s Plan

C H U R C H🌿🤍

Our posture in persecution is prayer and praise! Don’t push back; use that same energy and passion to praise God for an opportunity to make His name known!

Did you know that every single time the church was persecuted in the Bible, the church actually grew strong and deeper in size and number! Wooow right!!!

Let’s let the Persecution propel us forward and heavenward in our Kingdom purposes!!! We praise God for it because we are not of this world! We are percular! Peculiar people are persecuted! Be peculiar! Be persecuted! It’s a part of God’s plan!

🤍”Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”
-2 Timothy 3:12

🤍”Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
-Matthew 5:10

🤍”But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
-Matthew 5:44

🤍”If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”
-John 15:19

🤍”The apostles left there rejoicing, thrilled that God had considered them worthy to suffer disgrace for the name of Jesus. And nothing stopped them! They kept preaching every day in the temple courts and went from house to house, preaching the gospel of Jesus, God’s Anointed One!”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭5:41-42‬ ‭

Be loved beloved! Keep pressing on! God is so proud of you!

Happy 9 year Spirithday to me in Christ!

This first picture was 10 years ago when I was at the tail end of my life in sin. I had tried the world, but was never satisfied, secure or safe.

From bound, blemished, broken, blind, burdened to beyond beautifully blessed, beloved, blood bought and born again believer! Only a gracious Heavenly Father can do that! He took all of my failure in this flesh and gave me the faith to place my life in His faithful hands. When I couldn’t see beneath the surface of my sinfulness, He graced me to see my depravity so that I could place my faith in His deity.

9 years ago I took a chance at real love and I allowed God to cover me in the blood and love of Jesus in the waters of baptism. I surrendered to His Lordship! That day my sins were washed away, my shame and guilt were gone for good, and I was gifted with the most beautiful and powerful gift of the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, equip, and help me. These past 9 years have been the realist and trillest (yep I just said trillest) parts of my life.

I have been challenged to develop and grow into the nature of Christ. I have been sooo encouraged, corrected, rebuked, edified, built up. I have been persecuted. I have experienced “church hurts” and God has graced me to still press towards His presence. People are not my God. I have been tested and tempted in much. I have denied my flesh and gave in to my frail flesh desires. But here’s the thing, God has been faithful in every single season. He has patiently tended to my traumas and wounds. He has loved me through some difficult let downs. He has shown me my weak areas so that He can be my strength. He has covered me in His love and kindness instead of condemn me. He has blessed me with more than I could even imagine. He has used me even when I was not “qualified” and continues to do so. He has planted so much vision in my heart for His kingdom! He has fathered me in such a way that my little heart needs always. He has affirmed my beauty both inward and outward and He has done far more that I could even put in this post alone. He alone is faithful.

God sent His son Jesus to live a sinless life so that He could die for a wretched girl like me. Today I celebrate the reality and truth that God truly is love and I am a thankful recipient of it! I was blind but now I see. I see clearly that life in Christ is the O N L Y true way of living life abundantly. I couldn’t imagine facing this life without Christ. He is truly my rock and my redeemer! I am eternally thankful to be God’s daughter and the bride of Christ!

Happy 9 year spirthday to me!! Only Jesus can satisfy our souls! Only Jesus can make us whole!

Call on Him!

Friends With Benefits

What the world calls “friends with benefits” is a “friend” with whom one has sex with without a commitment. It is completely built on brokenness, bondage, sin, sex, lust, perverted behavior, selfishness, disobedience, and the like. But in Christ there is a friend with benefits we get to have with our beautiful creator who lavishes us with pure love. This relationship is built on truth, love, purity, blood and forgiveness, and a renewed mind that can receive such love and friendship by faith and obedience. God restores back the meanings of what Satan means for evil. He is such a redeemer! There are beautiful benefits and blessings reserved for those in the precious family of God. If only all would befriend Him.

So grateful to be a friend of God. He calls me friend 🤍

Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities and sins, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

Psalms 103:1-5 🤍🌿

Good Friday. Good God!

Lord, where would I be had YOU not been so good to me? I don’t even want to imagine life without you. Good Friday is only “good” because of such a good good and faithful Father You are and Your good news gospel. Your goodness came down to earth and clothed Himself humbly in flesh to save sinful people like me. Even when you knew I would reject you at times and sin against you, you still carried my sin on that cross and you endured the pain and shame so that I would know the depths, width, length and height of your love. Had that been me taking your place on the cross, surely I would have ruined God’s plan. I would have retaliated and fought back. I would have hit, spit and kicked back. I would have prideful proven my power instead of enduring such pain.. But You…you aren’t like me. You stayed silent and sinless in the midst of agony and torture. You did this for us knowing that some would still not receive your love. I deserved death and yet you took it on for me. There is no greater love one could have ever demonstrated. I am forever grateful for your goodness. Thank you Jesus. I’m so thankful death could not hold you down. I’m so thankful you rose from that sin stained tomb. I love you 😭

Crisis at the Foot of the Cross

Earlier today I saw this sweet picture that had images of things that some of us may be currently grieving and the other half of the picture were things we can all be grateful for. Just looking at it really made my heart even more grateful to be given the permission by God to feel both emotions and realities simultaneously.

It’s ok to grieve what “was” and yet still be grateful for what “is”. Jesus beautifully understood both complexities. In this time we are all learning from both ends of the contentment spectrum. I’m so grateful that we get to freely feel and express both of these “little g’s” gratefulness and grief during this time on we lean on our “Big G” God for strength and peace.

May we stand in the gap through prayer for those who are grieving more than anyone of us can imagine. We never know what side of the contentment spectrum our circumstances will have us leaning more towards. Even in it all, our forever constant is Christ; for that, our faith can stand firm! There’s a secret to contentment in crisis and His name is Jesus. Crisis at the foot of the cross looks a lot different. God is faithful! He is right in the thick of this with us. That right there is comforting! In Him is the safest place we can ever be!

Stay well you all! Praying y’all forward ♥️
